Continuing the artists’ research on the nature of borders, patriotism and national identity, ‘The Truth, As Told In Our Mother Tongue’ continues this line of thought, while corresponding with the events revolving around the current refugee crisis.
This exhibition functions as an allegorical meditation on these complex issues, with an attempt to allow the personification of a political situation and a portrayal of the emotional complexity of displacement.
Through this installation, the artist hopes to illustrate the changing and elusive nature of the concept of ‘homeland’ by creating a scene of an ultimate adaption to a new reality created by circumstance.
